Finally! We are back on track! Nothing makes me happier than to see us right the wrongs. With so few games left, we can’t afford mistakes. We need to start building some momentum in anticipation of the playoffs. How did we snap our losing streak? Let’s dive in and discuss!
What a game for Bryce Harper! If anything makes you happy, It’s seeing him snap out of his funk. Harper’s been dealing with a back injury, so you have to tip your cap to him in how he stepped up. He went 2-2 with two solo home runs and three walks.
Let’s get hot, Bryce! Another good showing from J.T.! He went 1-4 with an RBI forceout. It’s a great game when your two stars drive in a combined three runs. It’s a home run party, and we’re all invited!
Andrew McCutchen decided he wanted in on the action! He was 3-5 with a solo home run. We’ll need more from Clutch as the playoffs start. Who isn’t hitting a home run in this game?
Andrew Knapp and did Gregorius got in on the fun! They went 3-9 with two home runs, six RBI’s, and one walk. Jean Segura also had himself a game! He went 2-5 with a two-run RBI single. The offense was cooking, and we need those chefs to keep on making such yummy dishes!
Zach Eflin is growing before our very eyes. He had himself a game to remember. His stuff was on point, and there were little chances of stopping him. He showed he belongs in this rotation! He allowed three runs on six hits, with one walk and nine strikeouts. Over his last seven games, he’s 4-1 with a 3.83 ERA. Way to step up, Zach!
Great bullpen game. We needed this. We needed these guys to pick up their games. The season is on the line, and we can no afford for these guys to blow it. Thankfully that was not the case. We got a perfect outing from the bullpen. Connor Brogdon pitched one inning and allowed no runs or hits. If you were looking for a miracle this was It. We’ll need more as The Sprint To The Finish rages on!
