It’s just getting embarrassing at this point. How much more of this do we have to endure? I mean, seriously, how can this team continue to drop the ball like this? It just hurts my soul at this point! How did we get here? Let’s dive in and discuss!
The offense is finally back on track. We now have our third game, where we have scored four or more runs. It’s nice to see some consistency return to the offense. I think It’s safe to say that Bryce Harper is back. He went 2-3 with two monster home runs and two walks. With the guys hurt, now is the perfect time for Harper to get hot. Alec Bohm is another guy we need to get hot. He got off on the right track.
Bohm went 2-4, with a solo home run and a walk. Key it up, kid! The crazy thing bout this game? You had Bryce, Bohm, and Didi all homer back to back. Didi went 2-4 with a solo home run. You also got the continued production from Adam Haseley. He went 1-4 with an RBI single. In his last nine game’s he’s averaging .385, with nine RBI’s and two walks. Along with that, you had the debut of Micky Moniak, the Phillies 2016 number one overall pick.
He went 0-4 with a walk. It’s the first time we’ve had four first-round picks play together since Pat Burrell, Brett Myers, Chase Utley, and Mike Lieberthal played together on September 26th, 2006. Here’s hoping we can get more production from our young bucks!
Aaron Nola had a bad game. I know It’s surprising, but it does occur from time to time. For whatever reason, he couldn’t get it together. His pitches were all over the place, and he wasn’t able to get the proper location. In 5.1 innings of work, he allowed five runs on five hits, with five walks and seven strikeouts. Better luck next time, ace!
The bullpen continues to embarrass. It’s too late to fix anything at this point. All you can do is pray and hope for the best. In 3.2 innings of work, they allowed five runs on six hits, with two walks and seven strikeouts. One can only hope they can find some stability as The Sprint To The Finish rages on!
