Only the Phillies would lose their star pitcher to a nail, getting stuck in his jeans. How does this even happen? Do you know what’s even worse? We had to endure a bullpen game! Did it succeed? Let’s dive in and discuss!
It was somewhat of a let down due to the previous game. When you score eleven runs, anything less is a little disappointing. They were only able to score three runs on eleven hits. Bohm continues his excellence at the plate. He went 2-3 and is 6-10, with two RBI’s and a walk during the Marlins series.
Over the past six games, he’s averaging .476 with seven RBI’s and a walk. It’s nice to see J.T. have a nice stretch of games. He went 3-4 and had an RBI during game two of the series. He’s batting .462, with one home run, three RBI’s and a walk. Here’s hoping this hitting streak continues!
McCutchen had another swell performance as he went 2-4, with an RBI. Rhys Hoskins also knocked in an RBI on a ground out. You’ll need more form this offense for the remainder of this series. You’ll need all the firepower you can muster against this team.
The bullpen is an embarrassment at this point. How much worse could it get? The only pitcher worth their salt was Blake Parker. He allowed no hits through two innings of work and had three strikeouts. The combination of David Hale, Heath Hembree, Ranger Suarez, and David Phelps were disappointing.
They allowed five runs on ten hits, with two walks and two strikeouts through five innings. This pen has allowed thirty runs through the last ten games. It can only go up from here, right? Here’s hoping we can get back on track as The Sprint To The Finish Rages on!
