A Sprint To The Finish: Game 41

A start like this was just what the doctor ordered! Every game in this series is crucial. You can’t afford any missteps. That goes double for games where Nola is pitching. We’re we capable of getting back on track? Let’s dive In and discuss!

The offense got back on track. We put on a hitting clinic against a team that has given us trouble. We are top four in runs scored per game. You’ll need to keep that up against this Marlins team. We scored eleven runs on thirteen runs.

Nothing makes me happier than to see Andrew McCutchen get back to where he was last season. He went 2-3 with a two-run home run and an RBI single. Jean Segura got in on the fun as he went 1-3 with two RBI’s. Could Adam Haseley be getting hot? In the past two games, he’s 4-7 with four RBI’s. Including going 3-4 with two RBI’s in this game! Who knows, maybe Haseley is a Marlin killer!

Rhys Lightning continues his explosive play! He went 2-4 with a three-run home run. The crazy part of his comeback? He’s second on the team in home runs! Alec Bohm continues to improve with every at-bat. He was 2-4 with an RBI double. Over the past five games, he’s averaging .444, with seven RBI’s and a walk. If you can get your young studs in Haseley and Bohm hot, it can add depth to this already dangerous offense!

Ace Nola Is back! He was in his element in this game. Not to mention, he finally pitched his first complete game shut out. Sure it was only seven innings, but It’s still the same thing! He also became only the second pitcher since 1893 to throw a complete game shut out of seven innings or less with ten strikeouts. In seven innings of work, he allowed only three hits and struck out ten batters. When It’s Nola season, all you can do is watch and be amazed. So let’s smile and rejoice as The Sprint To The Finish rages on!
